Ross Stripling Roughed Up By Yankees
4 years agoToronto Blue Jays pitcher Ross Stripling lasted just 3.1 innings against the New York Yankees on Saturday. Originally ticketed for the bullpen, the right-hander is filling in for injured pitching prospect Nate Pearson (groin). Stripling was in control early and struck out four batters over the first three innings before his command started to slip in the fourth. With an average-at-best fastball, he needs strong command to work through a lineup. Stripling gave up two hits — including a home run to Gary Sanchez — and a wall in the fourth inning before getting replaced by Tyler Chatwood. In total, Stripling allowed seven hits and two walks that led to three runs.
