1 year agoLos Angeles Rams running back Ronnie Rivers started and put together a solid performance in the team's 21-20 win against the San Francisco 49ers. Rivers rushed the ball 13 times for 52 yards but was not targeted in the pass game. With the team resting running back Kyren Williams for their wildcard game next week, Rivers was ahead of both Zach Evans and Royce Freeman in the backfield. Despite being the clear backup behind Williams, the undrafted second-year player should not be considered an option in any formats when they face the Detroit Lions next week.--Saleh

3 months agoLos Angeles Rams running back Ronnie Rivers stepped in as the primary backup for Kyren Williams last week in the Rams' first game of the playoffs. He replaced rookie Blake Corum (forearm) on the depth chart but had a similarly minimal workload. Rivers wasn't targeted and gained eight rushing yards on his three carries. He'll probably get a few touches again this week against the Eagles, but he hasn't had enough of a role to deserve much fantasy attention yet. In Week 18, he did have four catches for 34 yards and 12 carries for 48 yards while Williams was resting, so if there's an injury and he has to step up, there is some potential upside to consider if you're looking for a DFS punt play.--Zach Thompson - RotoBaller

3 months agoLos Angeles Rams running back Ronnie Rivers will likely step in as the primary backup to Kyren Williams for the Rams' Wild Card matchup against the Vikings on Monday Night Football. Rookie Blake Corum (arm) suffered a season-ending forearm injury in Week 18 after playing a minimal role most of the season. Rivers had 10 carries early in the season but had not gotten a touch since Week 4 before taking a team-high 12 carries for 48 yards in the regular season finale against the Seahawks. He added four catches for 34 more yards out of the backfield. Rivers will likely get a few snaps, so he does bring a little upside, but his role will likely be too small barring injury to count on the third-year running back for fantasy.--Zach Thompson - RotoBaller

3 months agoLos Angeles Rams running back Ronnie Rivers took over as the team's top option in the backfield after Blake Corum (forearm) left with an injury on Sunday against the Seahawks. He led the team with 48 rushing yards on 12 carries and added four catches on five targets for 34 receiving yards. The third-year running back from Fresno State could be the primary backup to RB Kyren Williams in the playoffs since Corum was diagnosed with a fractured forearm and will miss the playoffs. Williams is definitely a high-usage back, leaving Rivers almost no fantasy floor, but he could have an increased role after Corum's injury in Week 18.--Zach Thompson - RotoBaller

12 months agoLos Angeles Rams running back Ronnie Rivers and offensive lineman Alaric Jackson both signed their free-agent tender offers on Monday. Rivers will be heading into his third year with the Rams in 2024 after entering the NFL in 2022 with LA as an undrafted free agent out of Fresno State. The 25-year-old had 32 carries last year for 129 yards and caught all five of his targets for 22 additional yards in nine regular-season games (one start) in his second year. Depending on what the Rams do in the upcoming NFL draft, Rivers could be battling with Zach Evans for the No. 2 backfield role in training camp this summer behind starter Kyren Williams. At best, Rivers will be a handcuff option in deeper leagues for fantasy managers that take Williams.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
