Ronald Guzman Expected To Return Thursday
6 years agoTexas Rangers first baseman Ronald Guzman (hamstring) is expected to return from the injured list on Thursday. It could force the team to designate either infielders Logan Forsythe or Danny Santana for assignment. Outfielder Delino DeShields could also be optioned to Triple-A Nashville. Santana has been hitting very well this season and can also play the outfield, so he seems like the least likely to be cut. Guzman has been rehabbing at Double-A Frisco and he homered and doubled on Saturday in his first game. The 24-year-old was hitting .231 (6-for-26) with two home runs and four RBI before his injury. He's likely to platoon at first base and is more of an AL-only guy.
