Ronald Acuna Jr. Looks To Continue Strong First Half
1 year agoAtlanta Braves outfielder Ronald Acuna Jr. is looking to continue his incredibly strong first half of the season as the second half begins on Friday. The Braves kick off a home series against the Chicago White Sox on Friday, followed by another three-game set vs. the Arizona Diamondbacks. Acuna Jr. put together an incredible first half, as did most of the Braves offense. He's currently slashing .331/.408/.582 with 21 home runs, 55 RBI, and 41 stolen bases across 359 at-bats. He's on pace to break all of his previous career marks and the 41 stolen bases is already a career-high for the 25-year-old. He's also on track to join the rare 40/40 club, which only has only been achieved four times in MLB history, most recently by Alfonso Soriano in 2006. Acuna Jr. was already a menace on the basepaths but he's taken full advantage of the new rules. Considering he's already notched the 40 stolen bases and the fact that he's just 15 home runs away from 40, we could be looking at a truly historic season for Acuna Jr.
