7 years agoThe Boston Red Sox have traded left-handed reliever Roenis Elias to the Mariners for cash considerations, per MLB.com. Elias returns to the team that signed him in 2011 and the Cuban left-hander was 1-0 with 1.23 ERA for the Red Sox Triple-A team this season. Elias simply had difficulty cracking into the Red Sox bullpen rotation and had been on the fringes of the majors the past few seasons. It is unclear what the Mariners intend to do with Elias out of the gate but certainly are hoping he can be an effective left-handed presence out of the bullpen in the near future.--Joey C - RotoBaller
