Rodolfo Vieira Gets Back In Win Column
2 years agoFormer ADCC champion turned UFC middleweight Rodolfo Vieira earned the favor of crowds at UFC Vegas 72 this weekend with a stunning arm-triangle submission victory over Cody Brundage on Saturday. In Round 1, Brundage sent Vieira to the canvas with a huge right before landing blistering ground strikes, but Vieira responded by taking Brundage's back and attempting a rear-naked choke. Round 2 started with Vieira pressing forward into the clinch, where Brundage shockingly went for a guillotine against the former ADCC champion. Vieira got out of the danger zone, gained top position and sank in an arm triangle to force the tap. In 6:28 of action, Vieira landed 10 significant strikes and one takedown. It's a much-needed win for Vieira, who previously suffered a disappointing decision loss to Chris Curtis back in June.
