Rodney Hood Produces 21 Points As Starter
4 years agoPortland Trail Blazers guard/forward Rodney Hood replaced C.J. McCollum (foot) in the starting unit on Monday against San Antonio, and he had a very good performance with 21 points in 25 minutes. Hood shot 9-for-14 from the field, including 2-for-6 from downtown, and his line also included two rebounds, two assists, and one steal. According to reports, McCollum will be re-evaluated in a week, so Hood will become an attractive short-term option for fantasy managers. The Blazers have three more games before next week, a back-to-back set against Memphis and an outing against the Knicks. Both sides have impressed defensively this season, so the matchups aren't great for a pure scorer like Hood. Especially the meeting with the Knicks, who have allowed the third-fewest points to the shooting guard position in 2020-21.
