Rod Streater Fractures Bone In Neck
6 years agoCleveland Browns wide receiver Rod Streater (neck) suffered a fractured bone in his neck in the Week 6 loss to the Chargers and will miss the rest of the season. However, the team said he will not need surgery and that doctors expect him to make a full recovery. With rookie wideout Derrick Willies (collarbone) on Injured Reserve and Rashard Higgins (knee) out a few weeks, the Browns are running dangerously thin on receiving talent. Rookie Antonio Callaway has been terribly inefficient with his targets behind Jarvis Landry. Expect rookie Damion Ratley to see a much bigger role moving forward, and recently-signed Breshad Perriman could be active in Week 7 against the Buccaneers. Perhaps the Browns decide to sign a free agent. All of this also means that tight end David Njoku should continue to be a big part of the passing offense. He has 23 targets in the last two weeks and had a season-high 12 looks on Sunday.
