Rockies Claim Dinelson Lamet Off Waivers
2 years agoThe Colorado Rockies claimed right-hander Dinelson Lamet off waivers from the Milwaukee Brewers on Friday. Lamet was shipped to the Milwaukee Brewers in the trade that sent closer Josh Hader to the San Diego Padres on Monday, but the Brewers designated Lamet for assignment on Wednesday due to a crowded bullpen at the major league level. The Rockies have decided to scoop him up, bringing him back to the National League West. The 30-year-old was once a promising starting pitcher, but injuries have moved him to a bullpen role the last two years, and he has struggled to a 9.49 ERA, a 2.03 WHIP and a 16:9 K:BB in only 12 1/3 innings in 2022. Lamet will have a new opportunity in Colorado, but for now he's well off the fantasy radar.
