Robinson Cano Singles In First Rehab Game
6 years agoSeattle Mariners second baseman Robinson Cano went 1-for-3 with a single in his first rehab game with Triple-A Tacoma on Monday. Cano is finishing out his 80-game suspension for violating the league's drug prevention program. He also played eight innings of error-free defense at first base. Cano will serve as the designated hitter on Tuesday for Tacoma before taking the day off Wednesday and then playing four games for Single-A Everett, where he should see time at second, third and first base. He is eligible to return to the Mariners on Aug. 14. Before his suspension, Cano was hitting .287 with four home runs and 23 RBI in 143 at-bats. He still should be owned in all leagues, but keep in mind that he'll be more of a utility player upon his return, bouncing around from third, second and first base. He will not be eligible to play in the postseason if the Mariners make it there.
