Robinson Cano Back In Mets Camp Tuesday
5 years agoNew York Mets second baseman Robinson Cano was back in Mets summer camp on Tuesday and was planning to practice with the team. Cano had been absent from camp over the past week. No reason for his absence has been provided by the Mets. During spring training, Cano had been strengthening his legs in an effort to avoid the quadriceps and hamstring issues that limited him to just 107 games in 2019. If healthy, the Mets will likely give Cano every opportunity to re-emerge as a productive bat in the middle of their potent lineup. That said, with only ten workout days remaining until Opening Day, it remains questionable whether Cano will be ready for action when the season opens. If Cano misses time, Jeff McNeil may move over to second base, opening up regular playing time for J.D. Davis at third base. Once fully ready to go, Cano is worth rostering in deep mixed leagues and in all NL-only formats.

Robinson Cano Removed Due To Dizziness On Friday
3 years agoAtlanta Braves infielder Robinson Cano (head) was removed from Friday's game against the Los Angeles Angels due to dizziness. His removal came in the third inning before his first at-bat of the game. Orlando Arcia came in as a pinch-hitter for him. Cano has played in six games with the Braves since being traded to the team for cash considerations earlier this month. He's gone 4-for-18 with a double over that six-game stretch. He will continue serving as one of the team's replacements for second baseman Ozzie Albies (foot), who is expected to remain out until at least mid-August.

Robinson Cano Joins Braves Roster
3 years agoAtlanta Braves infielder Robinson Cano has been recalled to the big league roster on Monday. The 39-year-old was acquired by the Braves in a trade with the San Diego Padres over the weekend. The veteran second baseman is hitting .149/.182/.189 with one homer in 77 plate appearances this season. He offers basically nothing in terms of fantasy production at this stage in his career. However, he'll likely get a decent amount of at-bats in Atlanta, especially against right-handed pitching. Fantasy managers can wait until Cano does something before rostering him.

Braves Plan To Activate Robinson Cano On Monday
3 years agoThe Atlanta Braves are expected to activate their newest acquisition, second baseman Robinson Cano, prior to Monday's game against his former team, the New York Mets. The Braves acquired Cano from the San Diego Padres in exchange for cash considerations on Sunday. The Braves are Cano's third team this season. He played in exactly 12 games for both the Mets and the Padres. The 39-year-old veteran hasn't been able to settle in at the plate yet this year, slashing just .149/.182/.189.

Braves Acquire Robinson Cano
3 years agoThe Atlanta Braves have agreed to a deal to acquire second baseman Robinson Cano from the San Diego Padres for cash considerations. They will receive the 39-year-old slugger on a veteran minimum deal. The New York Mets are on the hook for $24 million after releasing Cano earlier in the season. Cano has struggled with the bat this season and isn't worth a look in fantasy leagues. He'll likely get a decent amount of playing time in Atlanta, but it's unlikely he has much to offer at this point in his career.
