Robert Covington Gets Traded To Minnesota
6 years agoThe Minnesota Timberwolves have acquired forward Robert Covington from the Philadelphia 76ers. The Sixers will be sending two of their starting forwards to Minnesota for Jimmy Butler, who has finally forced his way out of Minnesota's organization. The 27-year-old Covington is among the best wing defenders in the NBA, and at the time of the trade holds averages of 11.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 1.8 steals and a career-best 1.8 blocks per game. Andrew Wiggins, who is currently injured, starts at small forward for the Wolves, but it seems likely that he will shift to the shooting guard position to allow Covington to play his natural position on defense. There is a chance that Covington could start at shooting guard also, but the minutes will be there regardless for the skilled wing threat.
