Rob Zastryzny Throws Bullpen Session
2 years agoPittsburgh Pirates left-hander Rob Zastryzny (elbow) threw a live bullpen session on Tuesday and will throw another later this week. He could go on a minor-league rehab assignment next week if he comes out of his next bullpen fine. Meanwhile, reliever Wil Crowe (shoulder) received a platelet-rich plasma injection and is two weeks into four weeks of not throwing. Zastryzny has been out since mid-April with left ulnar neuritis, but he's recovering nicely and could rejoin Pittsburgh's bullpen soon. The 31-year-old southpaw can be ignored for fantasy purposes, though, in middle relief. In 5 2/3 innings before his injury, he had allowed five runs on six hits while walking five and striking out six batters.
