Roansy Contreras Optioned To Triple-A Indianapolis
1 year agoPittsburgh Pirates right-hander Roansy Contreras was optioned to Triple-A Indianapolis on Thursday. Ke'Bryan Hayes (back) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move. Contreras struggled this season, posting a (3-7) record with a 6.59 ERA, 1.57 WHIP, and a 55:32 K:32 over 68 1/3 innings in 2023. The 23-year-old lost his spot in the starting rotation in June and was demoted to the bullpen. He allowed a whopping 20 earned runs over his last 12 1/3 innings. Contreras will look to bounce back in the minors and could return to the Pirates before the end of the regular season. The Pirates right-hander should be stashed in all dynasty leagues but is not on the fantasy radar in redraft formats.
