Riley Greene Has Season-High Four Hits Tuesday
4 years agoDetroit Tigers outfielder Riley Greene, the No. 15 prospect in baseball, had a season-high four hits for Double-A Erie on Tuesday night. The 20-year-old, who was the fifth overall pick in the 2019 draft, had a pair of doubles to raise his season average to .284 down on the farm. Greene has hit .318 in the month of June and has hits in nine of his last 10 games, including four multi-hit performances. The left-handed hitter has a slash line of .284/.376/.483 with an .859 OPS, eight home runs, 35 runs scored, 28 RBI and eight stolen bases in nine attempts in 45 games with Erie. Greene has an advanced approach for his age, and his unique blend of skills and tools should help him rise through Detroit's minor league system pretty quickly.
