Rhys Hoskins Makes His Mark In Friday's Blowout
2 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies first baseman Rhys Hoskins was a big help in the 9-1 National League Division Series Game 3 victory against the Atlanta Braves, homering with two on in the third inning off of starter Spencer Strider. He ended up 1-for-3 with three RBI and a walk. It was his first homer of the playoffs and only his second hit, and the slugger is now slashing .095/.136/.286. Hoskins was a force in the lineup during the regular season, batting .246 and going deep 30 times with 79 RBI, 81 runs and a pair of stolen bases. Depending on how far the Phillies go, the 29-year-old should continue to provide power and will look to do so against Charlie Morton, who allowed 1.47 HR/9 in 2022, in Saturday's Game 4.
