Reyes Moronta Likely To Start Season On Giants Roster
4 years agoSan Francisco Giants relief pitcher Reyes Moronta should likely be on the team's 26-man roster to start the season, per NBC Sports' Alex Pavlovic. There were 27 players left in Giants camp as of Tuesday, and Alex Wood (back) is likely to start the season on the injured list, which would leave 26 players. Moronta, who missed the 2020 season with a right shoulder strain, has not been all that impressive this spring, posting a 6.23 ERA and 2.08 WHIP over 4 1/3 innings of work. The good news is that his velocity has increased over the course of the spring. The 28-year-old has shown the ability to not allow runs and strike hitters out over the course of his career, so he could potentially find himself in high-leverage situations throughout the season. However, he will first need to gain the trust of the Giants before fantasy managers can consider trusting him.
