Rex Burkhead's Injury Not Serious
6 years agoNew England Patriots running back Rex Burkhead's undisclosed injury is not considered serious, and there's a good chance he would've played on Thursday if it were a regular season game, according to sources. The Patriots are being extra cautious knowing Burkhead's value to the offense. Burkhead is likely the team's lead back, but that's really not saying much in head coach Bill Belichick's offense. He'll undoubtedly share touches with James White, rookie Sony Michel and also Jeremy Hill/Mike Gillislee. Burkhead must avoid injuries during the year, too, but he can be considered a high-end RB3/flex.
