Redskins Won't Be Acquiring Jameis Winston
5 years agoThe Washington Redskins have no chance of acquiring quarterback Jameis Winston, according to a source. Winston is out of a job now that the Buccaneers have agreed with quarterback Tom Brady, but the market has been basically non-existent for the turnover-prone gunslinger. Washington seems content to give the starting job over to Dwayne Haskins full time in 2020, and Alex Smith (leg) could be his backup if he can get back onto the field this summer. Winston, 26, led the NFL with 5,109 yards passing and 33 touchdowns, but he also led the league with his 30 interceptions and continues to put his team in bad situations with all his turnovers. It's looking like he'll have to settle for a backup gig somewhere.
