Reds Activate Michael Lorenzen From Injured List
3 years agoThe Cincinnati Reds activated right-hander Michael Lorenzen (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list on Friday and moved infielder Alex Blandino (hand) to the 60-day injured list in a corresponding move. Lorenzen will be making his season debut when he gets into a game, but he looked good on his rehab assignment in the Rookie League and with Triple-A Louisville, allowing just one run while fanning eight and walking one in 5 1/3 innings of work. The 29-year-old went 3-1 last year with a 4.28 ERA, 1.39 WHIP and 35/17 K/BB in 18 outings (two starts) over 33 2/3 innings for Cincinnati. Walks can be an issue with Lorenzen, but he could also have some streaming appeal in deeper leagues if he makes some spot starts for the Reds in the second half of the season.
