Red Sox Will Try To Re-Sign Kyle Schwarber
Speaking to reporters at the general manager meetings, including MLB Network's Jon Heyman, Boston Red Sox chief baseball officer Chaim Bloom said the team will try to re-sign outfielder and first baseman Kyle Schwarber. Acquired in a mid-season trade with the Washington Nationals, Schwarber batted .291 with a .435 on-base percentage and seven home runs in 168 plate appearances for Boston during the regular season. Overall, the veteran hit .266 with a .374 on-base percentage, 32 home runs, and a stolen base in 471 plate appearances split between the Red Sox and Washington Nationals.
