Red Sox Call Up Dinelson Lamet
1 year agoThe Boston Red Sox selected the contract of right-hander Dinelson Lamet from Triple-A Worcester on Monday and designated left-hander Richard Bleier for assignment in a corresponding move. Since signing a minor-league deal with Boston on June 28, Lamet has posted a 3.72 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, seven walks and 16 strikeouts in 19 1/3 innings over five appearances (four starts) for Worcester. It's unclear if the 31-year-old will be used in a starting or relief role in his time with Boston, but stretched out to provide a spot start or be used in long relief out of the bullpen. He had a brutal 11.57 ERA and 2.34 WHIP with 22 walks and 31 K's in 25 2/3 innings over 16 outings (four starts) for the Colorado Rockies earlier this year, so fantasy managers shouldn't be expecting anything from him the rest of this year.
