Red Sox Acquire Pablo Reyes From A's
Pablo Reyes from the Oakland Athletics on Friday in exchange for cash considerations. Reyes played in five games for the Milwaukee Brewers last year and has hit .238/.307/.361 with a .667 OPS, 14 doubles, two triples, six home runs, 29 RBI and five stolen bases in 147 big-league games over four seasons. The 29-year-old Dominican had gone 19-for-74 (.257) with two doubles, a triple, a homer, 10 RBI, three stolen bases and 13 runs scored in 21 games for Triple-A Las Vegas this year prior to the trade. Reyes, who can play any infield position, will now report to Triple-A Worcester to provide Boston with organizational infield depth.
