Ravens Release Melvin Gordon III

The Baltimore Ravens released running back Melvin Gordon III on Tuesday, according to a source. Gordon didn't do enough to win a spot on the team's 53-man roster entering the 2023 regular season, but he could find himself back with Baltimore on their practice squad if he doesn't sign elsewhere. J.K. Dobbins leads the team's RB depth chart, with Gus Edwards, Justice Hill and rookies Keaton Mitchell and Owen Wright behind him. The 30-year-old Gordon almost reached 1,000 yards rushing in his first two seasons with the Denver Broncos in 2020 and 2021, but he played in just 10 games (six starts) last year and finished with 318 yards and two touchdowns on 90 carries (3.5 yards per tote), adding 25 receptions for 223 yards through the air.
