Raulian Paiva Pulls Off Close Decision Victory
5 years agoIn a closely contested battle, Raulian Paiva was able to squeak by Zhalgas Zhumagulov at UFC 251. The first round looked to have gone to Paiva with his stout body kicks. Round two was a bit more closely contested, going to his opponent. The third round was very close, with each fighter having their moment in the round's spotlight. Paiva was actually outstruck, only landing 52 significant strikes and 56 total strikes. Though Paiva is ranked 14th in the division, this win will not help his cause as Paiva missed weight. The win did move him to 2-2 in the UFC, with two victories in a row.
