Rashaad Penny The Third Option In Seattle Backfield
6 years agoSeattle Seahawks rookie running back Rashaad Penny, the team's first-round pick, played zero offensive snaps and just one snap on special teams in the Week 5 loss to the Rams. Seattle has rediscovered their ground game with an NFL-leading 473 yards in the last three games, but Penny has not been very involved. He has 29 carries for 92 yards through five weeks and is behind Chris Carson and Mike Davis. Head coach Pete Carroll called Penny "rusty" when he made his return from a broken finger in Week 1 against the Broncos. Penny lost valuable developmental time at the end of training camp and now he's buried on the depth chart. He could get his chance, but now it might take an injury to either Carson or Davis for that to happen. Penny is only a stash candidate in dynasty leagues for now.
