Rashaad Penny Aggravates Calf Injury On Sunday
3 years agoSeattle Seahawks running back Rashaad Penny (calf) aggravated a calf injury in Sunday's game, and he is expected to be out for a few weeks to allow himself to fully recover. There's a chance that Penny could land on Injured Reserve, which would put him out of commission for at least three weeks. Penny has been dealt with injuries in each of his three NFL seasons prior to 2021, which has resulted in him playing just 27 of a possible 42 games. Penny's fantasy value is capped with Chris Carson on the roster, and if Penny were to head to the IR, he probably wouldn't be worth holding onto in most fantasy formats. Running back DeeJay Dallas will likely serve as the primary backup to Carson with Penny injured again, although no other Seattle back besides Carson will have standalone fantasy value. Travis Homer and Alex Collins, who was a healthy inactive in Week 1, could see more opportunities.
