Rangers The Front-Runners For Nicholas Castellanos
5 years agoThe Texas Rangers appear to be the front-runners to sign outfielder Nicholas Castellanos. The Rangers missed out on signing third baseman Anthony Rendon. The Giants, Reds and Cubs are still in the mix on Castellanos. After adding Corey Kluber, Jordan Lyles and Kyle Gibson to the starting rotation, Texas is now looking for an impact bat, and Castellanos would surely fit that bill. He'd certainly be an upgrade at a corner outfield spot over Nomar Mazara, who the Rangers traded to the White Sox. Castellanos hit a combined .289/.337/.525 with 27 home runs, 100 runs and 73 RBI in 615 at-bats for the Tigers and Cubs last year. He was a difference-maker on a better team in Chicago down the stretch, and Texas would be a great spot to help boost his power numbers.
