Rangers Acquire Drew Smyly
6 years agoThe Texas Rangers acquired starting pitcher Drew Smyly from the Cubs on Friday. It's unclear what the Cubs received in return. Smyly missed all of the 2017 season and made just one rehab start in 2018 while recovering from Tommy John surgery. The left-hander is still on the right side of 30, though, and he has some upside left if he can stay healthy. Pitching in the American League might not be the best for his comeback attempt, but we could see him becoming a big part of Texas' rotation in 2019. He's worth a late-round flier in deep mixed and AL-only leagues.
