Ranger Suarez Turns In Quality Start, Takes Loss Tuesday
1 year agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Ranger Suarez finally turned in a good start Tuesday but took the loss in a 2-0 game against the Mets. Suarez pitched 6 2/3 innings, allowing two runs on five hits (including a solo home run) and two walks with four strikeouts. It was by far the best of Suarez's four starts this season, bringing his ERA down to 7.13. The 27-year-old had not pitched well since returning from the injured list with a left elbow strain, so this was an encouraging sign for fantasy managers. Suarez has been a useful fantasy option over the last two seasons and will have the opportunity to build on his success in his next matchup, which will be a favorable one at the Nationals.
