Ranger Suarez "Legitimate Option" For Game 5
1 year agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Ranger Suarez has a real possibility to pitch out of the bullpen in Game 5 Saturday night. Manager Rob Thomson said it would be treated like a regular throw-day, so Suarez would still be available for a possible Game 7. Suarez just started Game 3 on Thursday, throwing 69 pitches. The 28-year-old lasted 5 1/3 innings, giving up three hits and a walk while striking out seven. Suarez appeared out of the bullpen twice in last year's postseason run for the Phillies, so it wouldn't be uncharted territory for the Venezuelan.
