Randy Dobnak Strikes Out Six Against Rays

Minnesota Twins pitcher Randy Dobnak was dominant in a 1-0 win over the Rays on Saturday. Dobnak pitched three scoreless innings, allowing one hit while fanning six batters. He was particularly effective with his slider- which he was trying to get more break on- as he sent four batters down swinging with the pitch. Always more of a groundball pitcher- the 26-year-old could certainly benefit from producing more strikeouts, as he generated just 5.2 per nine innings last season. No matter what type of pitcher Dobnak is, manager Rocco Baldelli likes what he sees and wants him to get his innings, whether they come as a starter or a reliever. Dobnak will probably go undrafted in most formats, though he shouldn't be ignored as a potential contributor.
