Randall Cobb Leads Packers In Receiving During Loss
2 years agoGreen Bay Packers wide receiver Randall Cobb caught seven of 13 targets, gaining 99 yards, during the team's 27-22 loss to the New York Giants Sunday. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers hyper-targeted the 32-year-old receiver in an attempt to exploit a weakness in the Giants' secondary. Cobb had yet to clear four targets in a single game before this, so the 13 targets will likely go down as an outlier for the veteran receiver. With rookie Christian Watson (hamstring) exiting this game early, Cobb should retain his role as the team's top slot receiver, but he will be tough to trust for fantasy purposes unless you are in a deep league. The Packers have multiple favorable matchups for their passing attack over the next month, so the 11-year veteran could have another decent fantasy performance sooner rather than later. However, he will need to continue to see an increase in target share compared to what he saw on average prior to Sunday.
