11 months agoThe Los Angeles Rams have asked running back Blake Corum to evolve into a three-down back, according to Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic. Specifically, he's working to improve his route running, pass-catching, and pass-protection skills. This is an interesting note out of Los Angeles for a couple of reasons. First, Corum was viewed as a goal-line and change-of-pace option when drafted by the Rams just a few weeks ago. Expanding his role suggests Los Angeles has high expectations and optimism for the running back, and it could also lead to more snaps and touches (which equates to extra fantasy points). Second, the Rams' request for Corum to take on a larger role could have some connection to Kyren Williams (foot) being sidelined at OTAs. If the Rams think Williams could be delayed this offseason, it only makes sense that they look to get Corum involved as their No. 1 running back for the time being. Similarly, expanding Corum's skill set prepares him for the opportunity to jump into the starting role during the regular season should Williams suffer a different injury and miss time. The landing spot of the Rams wasn't immediately attractive for fantasy managers looking at drafting Corum. However, the latest signs out of Los Angeles suggest that the Michigan product could get his fair share of work right away in 2024. His fantasy value should climb as September draws nearer.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBaller

3 months agoLos Angeles Rams running back Blake Corum (forearm) was diagnosed with a fractured forearm, according to head coach Sean McVay. The rookie suffered the injury during Sunday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks. He won't be available for the postseason, meaning Ronnie Rivers and Cody Schrader will presumably operate behind Kyren Williams. Without question, Corum wasn't as advertised during his first season in the league, amassing 207 yards off 58 attempts, adding seven catches for 68 yards. Even worse, he didn't find the end zone. Unless something changes, Corum's fantasy value will be much lower entering the 2025-26 campaign. But he'll likely see attention from Williams' fantasy managers for insurances purposes.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

3 months agoLos Angeles Rams running back Blake Corum (forearm) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Seahawks. He wasn't involved much, amassing two carries for 10 yard and adding one grab for 12 yards. With the Rams already locked into a postseason spot, there's a good chance Corum won't be back, even if he's healthy enough to return. If that's the case, Ronnie Rivers and Cody Schrader will remain the go-to options out of the backfield for the rest of Week 18.--Dennis Clausen - RotoBaller

3 months agoLos Angeles Rams running back Blake Corum has shown flashes of potential in limited work this season, and in Week 18, he could be lined up for a sizable workload since the Rams are resting starting RB Kyren Williams with a playoff spot secure. The Rams have been running the ball effectively with Williams, but Corum has only totaled 197 yards on his 56 carries (3.5 yards per carry). The third-round pick from Michigan brings an element of explosiveness and upside but also represents a very unproven option that has yet to do much on the NFL stage. His upside has him as RotoBaller's RB28 this week, making him a solid RB3 or FLEX option. He also is a DFS option since he should get plenty of work against the Seahawks, who have allowed three touchdowns to running backs in the last five weeks.--Zach Thompson - RotoBaller

3 months agoLos Angeles Rams running back Blake Corum did get his typical workload in the second quarter against the Cardinals on Saturday night, but he ended up losing four yards on his three carries. He got all of his work on the team's third possession and remains firmly behind Kyren Williams on the depth chart. Corum has totaled 197 rushing yards on his 56 carries in his rookie season while catching six-of-seven targets for 46 receiving yards. However, despite his ineffectiveness Saturday, Corum could be in store for a bigger workload in Week 18 against the Seahawks since the Rams could clinch the division on Sunday depending on multiple results that impact their strength of schedule tiebreaker. If Williams is rested, Corum would be an interesting play against Seattle, so stay tuned for status updates leading up to Week 18's kickoff.--Zach Thompson - RotoBaller
