Ramon Laureano Back In Spring Lineup Friday
2 years agoOakland Athletics outfielder Ramon Laureano (groin) is back in the Cactus League lineup on Friday against the Kansas City Royals, starting in right field and batting third. Laureano missed two spring contests this week with groin tightness, but it obviously wasn't a very serious situation. Injuries have been an issue for the 28-year-old in the past, but when healthy, he provides an interesting mix of power and speed, albeit in one of the weakest lineups in baseball and in a pitcher-friendly home park. Laureano hasn't had 500 plate appearances in any of his five major-league seasons and has played over 100 games just one time (2019). If everything breaks right for him and he stays healthy, there's a chance he could flirt with a 20-20 season in 2023.
