Raisel Iglesias Throws Scoreless Rehab Inning
2 years agoAtlanta Braves closer Raisel Iglesias (shoulder) made his first minor-league rehab appearance for Triple-A Gwinnett on Thursday and worked a clean inning with no hits or runs allowed while striking out one batter. The 33-year-old's velocity was a bit down despite the clean outing, so the Braves will likely want to see more from him before activating him from the injured list for his 2023 debut. There's also a chance that the Braves choose to ease Iglesias back into closing situations initially, although they may not have that luxury if left-hander A.J. Minter continues to struggle in Iglesias' absence. With it only being a matter of time before Iglesias returns to primary closing duties in Atlanta, he needs to be rostered everywhere.
