Raisel Iglesias Could Return During Homestand
2 years agoAtlanta Braves closer Raisel Iglesias (shoulder) could rejoin the team from the injured list for the start of the homestand on Friday in the series opener against the Baltimore Orioles, according to manager Brian Snitker. The 33-year-old right-hander has made three minor-league rehab appearances for Triple-A Gwinnett and has allowed one run on two hits while walking none and striking out five in three innings of work. Iglesias hasn't played at all yet in 2023, but he's on the cusp of a return to the Braves' bullpen and he should eventually take over primary closing duties from left-hander A.J. Minter, who has mostly struggled in the role. If Iglesias is on your league's waiver wire, pick him up immediately.
