Raiders Have High Expectations For Josh Jacobs
5 years agoAs training camp approaches for the Oakland Raiders, running back Josh Jacobs may be the player that the team needs the most to help balance the offense in 2019. Drafted as the first RB off the board in April's draft at 24th overall, the Raiders are hopeful that Jacobs can maintain the role as the team's bonafide number one back. He'll enter training camp as the leader on the depth chart with Doug Martin, Jalen Richard, and Deandre Washington backing him up as underwhelming insurance policies. Jacobs has the tools to be an every-down back with a combination of power and speed as well as an ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. It will be interesting to see how he holds up over the gruel of an NFL schedule, but the rookie out of Alabama is in a prime spot to contribute as an RB2 in fantasy lineups.
