Race Strategy Could Make Tyler Reddick A Core DFS Play On Sunday
1 year agoOn Saturday afternoon, Tyler Reddick qualified 19th for the Xfinity 500 at Martinsville Speedway. Heading into the weekend, Reddick finds himself one spot outside the cutoff line for the Championship 4 race, just 10 points behind Ryan Blaney. Because of how close he is in terms of points to the cutoff line, it will be interesting to monitor what sort of strategy the 23XI Racing team uses in Sunday's race. While the team obviously wants to win the race, it may turn out that stage points determine who makes it to Phoenix with their championship dreams still intact. Because of this, I expect Reddick to be competitive, though not overly aggressive, as he will have to play the numbers game throughout Sunday's race. While this approach may not end in a victory for the No. 45, it should be enough to give him a strong finish, which makes him a strong play in DFS.
