Phillies Acquire David Robertson From Cubs
2 years agoThe Philadelphia Phillies acquired right-handed reliever David Robertson from the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday, according to sources. It's unclear who the Phillies will send to the Cubs in return, but Robertson will be returning to the Phil after spending the 2019 season with them. The 37-year-old was the Cubbies closer before the trade, posting a strong 2.23 ERA, 1.04 WHIP, 14 saves and 51 strikeouts in his 40 1/3 innings of work. In Philadelphia, Seranthony Dominguez and lefty Brad Hand have been sharing closing duties, but it remains to be seen if Robertson will be given the majority of save chances in his new home or if he'll be part of an ongoing committee for saves. His fantasy outlook for the rest of the season could receive a boost on a contending team.
