Philip Rivers Throws Touchdown In Win
4 years agoIndianapolis Colts quarterback Philip Rivers threw for 218 yards, one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's win against the Vikings. The Colts placed much more of an emphasis on running the ball this week, so Rivers threw the ball just 25 times. It was a good win for the Colts, but Rivers did not have much fantasy value. Based on the way rookie running back Jonathan Taylor ran the ball, we can expect to see more performances like this from the Colts. They want to get the run game going with their running backs and great offensive line in order to set up the passing game from there. Rivers has a favorable matchup in Week 2 against the Jets, but a run-first offense suggests that Rivers will not have a lot of fantasy value as a starter going forward unless something changes.
