Free-agent forward Phil Kessel is still seeking an NHL contract after going unsigned to this point. The veteran is coming off of a Stanley Cup championship with the Vegas Golden Knights last season but his production tailed off dramatically and he skated in just four postseason contests for Vegas this past spring. Kessel's representation has reportedly been in contact with a couple of teams and the American winger has been skating and trying to stay read as he aims to sign a deal prior to the March 8 NHL trade deadline. He has already enjoyed a storied NHL career that has seen him rack up 413 goals and 992 points while skating in 1,286 career regular-season games. Kessel has also added 34 goals and 83 points across 100 postseason appearances, winning three Stanley Cups in that time.--Brenton KempRead More News
