Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Petr Mrazek has signed a two-year, $8.5 million extension with the club that carries an average annual value of $4.25 million. The veteran has been solid for a poor Blackhawks team this season, turning in a .907 save percentage across 32 games (30 outings), matching his career .907 Sv% across 366 regular-season games. Additionally, Mrazek's 3.62 goals saved above average ranks 23rd of 67 qualified goaltenders, as per Hockey Reference. It's a nice bounce-back season for the 31-year-old who posted a 3.66 goals-against average and .894 Sv% in his first season with the Blackhawks last season. He will continue to mentor young netminder Arvid Soderblom for the next couple of seasons.--Brenton Kemp
