Pete Alonso Hits 14th Homer Tuesday
2 years agoNew York Mets first baseman Pete Alonso went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 8-5 loss to the Rays. Alonso crushed a seventh-inning Yonny Chirinos offering just down the left-field line for his 14th long ball of the season. The 28-year-old has not hit for average but has hit for plenty of power, slashing .233/.333/.516 with 33 RBI. Fantasy managers have come to expect a better batting average from Alonso based on his performance in the last two seasons, but there is really not much they can complain about given his elite power.
