Pedro Strop Earns 12th Save
6 years agoChicago Cubs reliever Pedro Strop allowed some drama but finished the job Wednesday versus the Brewers. With a two-run lead, Strop would allow the first two batters to reach before coming back to close them out. The save was his 12th of the season. He is likely to be getting some more down the stretch given the uncertainty of whether Brandon Morrow will return in time to work his way back to the closer position. Joe Maddon expressed some concern about the time needed versus the time remaining. Several relievers for the Cubs could close so it is not a safe proposition to rely on Strop but he is the best bet.
