Pedro Severino Gets On Base Five Times
7 years agoWashington Nationals catcher Pedro Severino got on base all five times he came up to the plate on Monday. He was hitting in place of injured starter Matt Wieters and went 2-for-2 with two walks and a hit by pitch. He scored one run and had one RBI. Severino will likely split time with Miguel Montero behind the dish with Wieters on the disabled list. He's a decent hitter with little to no pop. But he's a tremendous defender and will likely stick around even if he doesn't provide all that much at the plate.
