Paul Sewald Remains Perfect In Save Opportunities Tuesday
1 year agoSeattle Mariners reliever Paul Sewald picked up his 10th save of the season on Tuesday, tossing a clean ninth inning to help his team defeat the Oakland Athletics 3-2. He allowed no baserunners while striking out a pair and has still yet to blow a save. Sewald's running a 3.32 ERA and 0.92 WHIP with 28 punchouts over 21.2 innings, dominant numbers from the pen. When Andres Munoz (shoulder) returns from the injured list, the former may have some competition for the closer role. However, given his string of success, Sewald should remain the number one option in Seattle.
