Paul Casey Blows Four-Shot Lead at Travelers Championship
6 years agoAfter a Saturday 62, Paul Casey entered Sunday's final round at the Travelers Championship with a four-shot lead. But a stiff neck and a two-over par 72 did him in as he settled for a tie for second place. A day after hitting all 18 greens, Casey could hit only 10 on Sunday and just didn't have the swing that carried him to the lead. “It was awful,” Casey said. “First few holes were not good. You know, just wiping across it. Either pulling it or flaring it right. That’s difficult to play with on benign conditions – and extremely difficult to play with when it’s slightly windy like it was today." Casey has had a strong season thus far and will be a threat at the Open Championship at Carnoustie in a few weeks.
