5 months agoLos Angeles Angels left-hander Patrick Sandoval (elbow) was placed on the 15-day injured with a left elbow strain. The Angels recalled reliever Guillermo Zuniga from Triple-A Salt Lake in a corresponding move. He exited Friday's start against the Los Angeles Dodgers after just 2 1/3 innings. Sandoval will be eligible to return from the injured list around the All-Star break. Before landing on the injured list, Sandoval owned a 5.08 ERA, 1.51 WHIP, and an 81: 35 K: BB across 79 2/3. Zuniga won't take Sandoval's spot in the rotation, and the Angels will look for a replacement for the southpaw in the next few days.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller
