Pat Neshek Could Provide Stability To Phillies Bullpen
At long last, Philadelphia Phillies relief pitcher Pat Neshek made his season debut for the Phillies on Sunday. Playing the Washington Nationals, the 37-year-old faced two batters, giving up a hit and retiring another before being pulled. Neshek was arguably the best pitcher in the club’s bullpen last season, and he made the All-Star team. The unit has been Philadelphia’s weakest link thus far, so Neshek’s return provides a much-needed boost. The Phillies currently find themselves in the hunt for a National League wild-card berth while maintaining a close distance in the division race.
