Pat Neshek Could Provide Stability To Phillies Bullpen
6 years agoAt long last, Philadelphia Phillies relief pitcher Pat Neshek made his season debut for the Phillies on Sunday. Playing the Washington Nationals, the 37-year-old faced two batters, giving up a hit and retiring another before being pulled. Neshek was arguably the best pitcher in the club’s bullpen last season, and he made the All-Star team. The unit has been Philadelphia’s weakest link thus far, so Neshek’s return provides a much-needed boost. The Phillies currently find themselves in the hunt for a National League wild-card berth while maintaining a close distance in the division race.
